Does divorce occur if the husband says: "If you leave the room, you are divorced" and the door is opened out of necessity?

The relied-upon fatwa is that if someone makes his divorce contingent on a condition, then his divorce occurs upon the fulfillment of that condition, unless the departure was due to forgetfulness or heedlessness. Some Shafi'is have held that divorce does not occur in such a case. If this divorce does not complete the three divorces, then the husband has the right to take his wife back before the expiry of her 'iddah.
