Is it permissible to accept money as aid from a non-Arab individual who demands marriage or the return of the money after it has been sent, knowing that the amount has already been spent?

A man who pays money to a woman, either his intention is legitimate, such as marriage, in which case, if that is not realized, he has the right to reclaim his money, just as if one gifted something with the expectation of recompense and was not recompensed. An example of this is what the jurists mentioned regarding a woman who gifts her husband something from her dowry or her money with the intention of maintaining the marital relationship. If he divorces her or the marriage is annulled before her intended purpose is realized, she has the right to reclaim what she gifted.

Alternatively, his intention may be illegitimate, such as an illicit relationship. In this case, he does not have the right to demand what he paid, and it is not permissible for the woman to possess it. Rather, this money should be spent on the welfare of Muslims. If the woman has consumed the money and is wealthy, she must give an equivalent amount and spend it on the welfare of Muslims. If she is poor, there is nothing upon her, along with the necessity of repenting from the illicit relationship.
