The answer

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, preferred comprehensive supplications (du'a Jawami'), which are those with few words but extensive meanings, such as praying for well-being (Aafiya) in this world and the Hereafter. Moreover, praying for the removal of the husband's mother, even if her harm is assumed, is not better than comprehensive supplications.

Then, it is recommended to treat the husband's mother well if she comes, for Allah might place much good in her coming. One must be patient with her and seek reward from Allah, for Allah does not let the reward of those who do good go to waste. Good treatment may turn enmity into friendship. Her stay is for a limited period, so consider it as an addition to your good deeds.
