A woman must initiate ghusl (ritual purification) and prayer immediately upon seeing purity, indicated by one of its two signs (dryness or white discharge); she is not permitted to delay. Intermittent purity during menstruation is valid purity, and she must make up the prayers she missed during this period of purity. Yellowish discharge is considered menstruation if it occurs within the customary period, but it is not considered menstruation if it appears after seeing purity and the customary period has ended.
