How should non-Muslims be treated to demonstrate the tolerance of Islam and attract them to it, and is it correct for a Muslim to show them excessive respect, such as opening doors and the like?
A husband must avoid non-Muslim women, knowing their display of adornment (tabarruj) and their lack of hesitation in touching foreign men (non-mahram); because of Allah Almighty's saying: ﴿Say to the believing men that they cast down their gaze and guard their private parts; that is purer for them. Surely Allah is aware of what they do.﴾ [An-Nur: 30], and because of His (peace be upon him) saying: “For one of you to be stabbed in the head with an iron needle is better for him than to touch a woman who is not lawful for him.”
