Is it permissible to return to America and reside there for the purpose of free medical treatment for a sick wife, despite the advice of scholars against living in non-Muslim lands?

We advise you not to reside in disbelieving lands due to the danger this poses to oneself and one's offspring. And whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better. Residing in disbelieving lands is a great danger to a Muslim's religion and morals. Its fundamental condition is that the resident be secure in his religion, possessing knowledge, faith, and strong resolve that enable him to remain steadfast in his religion and to openly practice his religion without hindrance. Residence may be permissible for specific permissible needs, such as trade and medical treatment. However, a Muslim's residence in disbelieving lands, while witnessing the rituals of disbelief and being content with them, entails great danger to his religion and the religion and morals of his family and children.
