Is it permissible to move the station of our master Abraham (peace be upon him) to another location in the courtyard of the circumambulation area [sahṇ al-maṭāf] to facilitate circumambulators and worshippers and to preserve the lives of Muslims?

There is no harm in moving the Maqam (station) from its place if there is a need, such as it obstructing those performing Tawaf or causing them harm. It is narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, moved it from inside the Kaaba to outside of it and placed it against its wall, but its chain of narration is weak. Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, later moved it due to the crowd.
