What is the ruling on refusing to perform ruqyah for relatives out of fear of jinn possession of the ruqyah performer, knowing that there are those who say that jinn may exit the patient and enter the ruqyah performer, or lie in wait for him and possess him if he abandons his adhkar (remembrances)?

There is no sin in refusing to perform ruqyah for someone who requests it, especially if the healer fears possession by a jinn, as the possibility of a jinn possessing a human is established both by religious texts and by reality. This possession may occur during the expulsion of a jinn from a patient's body, where it might transfer to the healer or another person, or it may happen at another time.
