Why do Muslims not eat pork, and what are the reasons for its prohibition?

Allah the Almighty has forbidden pork to Muslims, and He explained that it is "defiling." Everything that Allah has forbidden is impure because it contains corruption for human life, whether in health, wealth, or morals. Modern medicine has proven that pork contains a dangerous worm called "trichina" which transfers to humans and settles in their muscles, causing diseases that are difficult to cure. This confirms the wisdom of the prohibition in Islam. Moreover, the legal ruling must be valid and applicable to all people in all places.
