Should a person who is in their final moments in the bathroom recite the Two Testimonies, and is the Basmalah for Wudu invalidated in the bathroom?
Scholars have differed on the ruling of verbally engaging in dhikr (remembrance of Allah) in the restroom, holding three opinions: permissibility, (disliked - which is the opinion of the majority), and prohibition. Based on the opinion of permissibility and the majority's opinion of it being merely makruh, it is permissible for a dying person to utter the word of (Oneness of Allah) in the restroom. As for reciting the Basmala when performing ablution in the bathroom, it is permissible if the visible parts of the bathroom are clean, but it is makruh if they are unclean. Furthermore, one should not enter the bathroom with anything that contains the remembrance of Allah.
