Does God see our deeds only after they occur, or does He also see them before they occur?
One must believe in Allah's comprehensive knowledge, which encompasses what has been and what will be. This has been recorded in a clear book before the creation of the heavens and the earth. Knowledge differs from vision; Allah knows what will come from His servant before His creation, and when the act occurs, He sees it, hears it, and recompenses for it, as stated in His Almighty قول: ﴿And say, "Do [as you will], for Allah will see your deeds, and [so will] His Messenger and the believers. And you will be returned to the Knower of the unseen and the witnessed, and He will inform you of what you used to do."﴾ (At-Tawbah 9:105) Humans are both predetermined and given choice; predetermined in the sense that they cannot escape Allah's power, will, and prior knowledge, and given choice in the sense that they act by their own choice and will, and there is no compulsion upon them in their actions.
