What is the ruling on sending phrases such as: "Abandoning sins in Ramadan is neither a contradiction nor a claim of perfection; rather, it is a rope of hope between the servant and his Lord, with the hope that it will not be severed," and "All TV series and programs will be re-broadcast later; set them aside, for they are a source of waste for your good deeds and the reward of your fasting," and "Indeed, among people are those who 'were content to be with those who remained behind,' so Ramadan passes them by, one after another, and they remain as they are"?

There is no objection to the three phrases. The first phrase urges the abandonment of sins in Ramadan (definition), considering it a blessing and success, and rejects the justification for continuing in error. The second phrase calls for abandoning TV series in Ramadan to avoid squandering good deeds, suggesting postponing watching them until after Ramadan, while noting that repentance is not valid with the intention of returning to forbidden acts. The third phrase describes someone who experiences Ramadan without benefiting from it as being "among the laggards" (those who fall behind in obedience or are not among their righteous kin), and cites the Hadith (definition) of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who invoked humiliation upon whoever reached Ramadan and was not forgiven.
