Is the prayer valid if the worshiper does not place his hands at the shoulders or ears when rising from bowing, and then corrects the posture after remembering?

It is authentically established in the Prophet's Sunnah that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to raise his hands in four positions during prayer: upon uttering the opening takbir (Allahu Akbar), when bowing (ruku‘), when rising from bowing, and when standing up from the two rak'ahs (from the first tashahhud).

As for the manner of raising the hands, narrations indicate that it should be level with the shoulders, while others state it should be level with the earlobes. Scholars have differed on this matter. Some held that the raising should be level with the shoulders, while others believed it should be level with the ears. Still others held that one has the choice between the two, and that both are Sunnah.

Raising the hands in the aforementioned positions is among the Sunnah acts of prayer. Omitting a Sunnah does not invalidate the prayer, but it deprives the worshiper of its reward. A slight error in the manner of raising or correcting it does not affect the validity of the prayer. It is advised not to exaggerate or be overly meticulous in the manner of raising to avoid waswas (whispers from Satan) and repeating prayer actions.
