Is wearing a turban Sunnah, and what are the strong proofs for that? And is it legislated for scholars, preachers, and common folk to wear it?

The turban is one of the Prophet Muhammad's (peace be upon him) practical sunnahs. He used to wear the turban and the cap, and he would wipe over his forelock and over the turban. Some scholars have recommended wearing it.
