Is a young man considered disobedient and sinful towards his parents if he marries the girl he has chosen and become attached to, while his father rejects this marriage without a valid Sharia-compliant or substantial reason, knowing that the young man sees her as the righteous wife who will help him in his religious and worldly life? And can he marry her and try to please his parents at the same time?

The questioner is advised to strive to convince his father to agree to marry the girl and to seek help from those who have influence over him. If the father refuses without a valid reason, then obedience to him is not obligatory in abandoning her, especially if he would be harmed by leaving her, for obedience to parents is not required in matters that harm the child. However, if he would not be harmed by leaving her, then it is better to leave her and seek someone else, for honoring one's father is among the best acts of drawing closer to Allah.
