It is permissible to deposit money in a usurious bank in a current account if it is for the purpose of protecting it from loss, theft, and fraud, provided there is no other place to keep it. It is forbidden to deposit money in a usurious bank—even in a current account—except in cases of necessity, because the bank deals with this money through usurious loans and other forbidden transactions. In such a case, the owner of the money would be assisting the bank in sin, and Allah has forbidden cooperation in sin and aggression.
