Is it permissible to wipe over the outer and inner eyelid during Wudu, without wiping the eyelashes, due to the fear of water entering the eye after laser surgery?

Water must reach the eyelashes of the eye during ablution (Wudu') and ritual bath (Ghusl) because they are considered part of the face. If one fears harm to the eye from water, then one should perform Tayammum for it. The general principle is that if a person has a wound that cannot be washed or wiped, they should perform Tayammum for it and wash the rest of the limbs. Sheikh Ibn 'Uthaymeen mentioned the levels of dealing with a wound on the limbs of purification: washing if it does not cause harm, wiping if washing causes harm but wiping does not, Tayammum if both washing and wiping cause harm, and wiping over the covering if it is covered. As for past prayers, it is hoped they will be forgiven, but repeating them is more cautious. Sheikh Ibn Baz holds that repeating the prayers is obligatory if Tayammum was not performed for a wound that could not be washed or wiped.
