Is wearing the ghutra in Egypt considered a garment of fame if only sheikhs wear it, and if so, why is it permissible for sheikhs?

Wearing a garment of fame is prohibited. This refers to clothing intended for notoriety among people, whether it is expensive out of arrogance or cheap out of hypocrisy, or if its color differs from the colors of people's clothes, thereby attracting attention and causing self-admiration. A Muslim should wear what is customary for the people of their country as long as it is permissible, because opposing people's customs in clothing is disliked, as it involves fame that exposes its wearer to backbiting. The early Muslims (Salaf) disliked fine clothes that attract attention and poor clothes that debase the religion. The Sunnah is for a person to wear what people generally wear.
