What is the meaning of the Almighty’s saying: "Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent – [He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed - and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving"?

The verses (1-2) from Surat Al-Mulk clarify that Allah the Almighty is glorified, transcendent, and immensely benevolent. He is the Sovereign Owner of all things and is capable of all things. He created death and life to test people as to which of them is best in deeds. A good deed is that which is most sincere to Allah and most in conformity with the Sunnah. And Allah is Al-Aziz (the All-Mighty), Who is never overcome, and Al-Ghafur (the All-Forgiving), Who conceals sins and overlooks them, especially for those who repent.
