A woman becomes legally a wife by virtue of the marriage contract, and whatever is permissible for a husband with his wife becomes permissible for him with her, while observing the custom of not engaging in intercourse until she moves into his home or the consummation is announced. The wife's obedience to her husband is not obligatory while she is in her father's house before consummation.
