The answer

The reason for the prohibition of listening to unlawful singing is that it leads to heedlessness, hardening of the heart, and encourages disobedience. Ibn Mas'ud said: "Singing causes hypocrisy to grow in the heart, just as water causes vegetation to grow."

If you are compelled to go out or travel with those who listen to unlawful songs, you should advise them kindly and present the proofs for the prohibition of singing. If they are not convinced and you are unable to leave their company, and you detest it in your heart, then we hope there is no sin upon you because you are compelled, and you have done what you could. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever among you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; if he cannot, then with his tongue; if he cannot, then with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith."

It is recommended to associate with good people and avoid friends who lead to what Allah has forbidden.
