If an aunt passes away and she has one full sister, one paternal brother, and two paternal sisters only, then the full sister receives half (of the inheritance). The remainder is divided among the paternal brother and the two paternal sisters by ta'sib (agnatic inheritance), with the male receiving the share of two females. The inheritance is divided into eight shares: four for the full sister, two for the paternal brother, and one for each paternal sister. The fatwa points to the seriousness of inheritance issues and the necessity of referring them to Sharia courts for investigation, as there might be other heirs, bequests, or debts that take precedence over the heirs' rights.
