How is the inheritance divided between a full sister and a full paternal cousin of the deceased?

If the deceased leaves behind only a full sister and a paternal cousin (son of a full paternal uncle), then the full sister receives one-half as a prescribed share (fard), based on the Almighty's saying: "If a man dies, having no child, and he has a sister, then she shall have half of what he leaves." The remainder goes to the paternal cousin (son of a full paternal uncle) by way of 'asabah (agnatic relationship), based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "Give the prescribed shares to those entitled to them, and whatever remains is for the closest male." The inheritance is divided into two shares: one share for the full sister and one share for the paternal cousin (son of a full paternal uncle). It is advisable to refer the matter to the Sharia courts or consult scholars directly to verify all heirs, wills, debts, and other rights before distribution.
