The verse: "Vile women are for vile men, and vile men are for vile women. Good women are for good men, and good men are for good women" (Quran 24:26) is a commentary on the incident of the Slander (Al-Ifk), meaning that it is customary and appropriate for similar people to marry each other, but this may change. Prophets are infallible from marrying prostitutes. The treachery of Noah's and Lot's wives was in their religion, not in their chastity. So, "they betrayed them" means that they did not agree with their faith and did not believe the message. One of them would tell people that her prophet was insane, while the other would inform on his guests.
