What are the schools of thought among scholars regarding birth control, and can it be canceled for financial and living considerations?

It is not permissible to practice birth control merely due to hardship of living, fear of poverty, or the pretext of sufficiency with a certain number, as this indicates a weakness in conviction in Allah's promise of sustenance and a confrontation of His law. Material conditions are not to be considered in birth control, for sustenance is in the hand of Allah. However, there is no harm in spacing pregnancies and delaying them to devote oneself to the nurturing of the previous child.
