Why is it said that Allah distinguished men over women in Paradise by giving them the Houris and their wives from this world, while the noble verse says: ﴿O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.﴾? And what is the proof that a woman will marry her husband in Paradise, especially with the weakness of the hadiths reported concerning this? And how do you use the verse: ﴿Gardens of perpetual residence which they will enter and [also] those who were righteous among their fathers, their spouses, and their offspring.﴾ as evidence for a woman marrying her husband in Paradise? And how do you stipulate that a woman must not marry after her husband in this world to marry him in Paradise, while the verse says: ﴿For them therein is whatever they desire.﴾? And does the description ﴿limited in [their] glances﴾ apply to women of this world or to the Houris?

It is not permissible to delve into unseen matters except with a clear text, and the criterion for preference in Paradise is piety, not masculinity. Men and women are equal in the completeness of enjoyment and bliss in Paradise. There is no contradiction between this principle and the existence of some forms of difference in the manner of enjoyment, appropriate to the nature of each gender. Everyone is granted enjoyment that suits their condition, and this is a manifestation of the perfection of bliss.

The saying of Allah Almighty: "They will have therein whatever they wish" and "And you will have therein whatever your souls desire" means that the people of Paradise will only desire what suits their condition, not everything they desired in this world.

The Quran's specific mention of wives and houris (wide-eyed maidens) for men in Paradise is because man is the seeker and desirer of women.

As for the issue of a woman being with her last husband in Paradise, there is a recognized difference of opinion among scholars on three views. Some scholars have preferred that the woman will be with the best of her husbands in character, or she will be given a choice, or she will be with her last husband if only death separated them.

The derivation from the verses regarding a man reuniting with his wives in Paradise is correct and does not contradict the fact that a righteous woman will be a wife to her husband in Paradise; rather, it is what the verses entail.

The affirmation of the hadith that "A woman will be with her last husband" has sound chains of narration, and it has been authenticated by hadith scholars.

One must be cautious of accusing jurists of arbitrating their personal whims in legal fatwas, as such accusations are considered injustice and calumny.
