Is it permissible for a woman to look at non-mahram men?
A woman's gaze upon a man, whether on television or elsewhere, falls into two categories:
1. If it is accompanied by lust and enjoyment, then it is forbidden, due to the corruption and temptation it entails. 2. If it is devoid of lust and enjoyment, then it is permissible, based on what has been narrated that Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, used to watch the Abyssinians playing, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, approved of that. This is also because women look at men in the marketplaces without lust or temptation.
