Upon what basis can a non-Arab affiliate himself with Arabs, and does the Hadith "May Allah curse whoever affiliates himself with other than his father" apply to such an affiliation?

"Whoever claims lineage to other than his father is cursed, and upon him is the curse of Allah, the angels, and all mankind. Allah will not accept from him on the Day of Resurrection any atonement or ransom. And whoever does this knowingly, Paradise is forbidden to him. The best lineage one can attribute themselves to is the fear of Allah (taqwa), as Allah Almighty said: "O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you."

It is not for a non-Arab to attribute himself to the Arabs; rather, it is sufficient honor for him to belong to the Islamic nation."
