The question

Is it permissible to take out an interest-bearing loan to buy an apartment, with the intention of transferring it to an Islamic bank later, knowing that there is an urgent need for the money now and current circumstances do not allow borrowing from an Islamic bank at the present time?

The answer

Borrowing with interest is a grave sin. It is not permissible to borrow from an interest-based bank to purchase an apartment for residence, as this does not constitute a necessity that permits usury. Whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better, and whoever relies on Allah, He will suffice him. Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him."
