Is removing hair from the abdomen and thighs with a laser for a woman who has hair growth in those areas prohibited, is this hair unnatural, and does it grow on other women?

The growth of hair in unusual places for a woman, such as the abdomen and legs, may indicate an imbalance. For this reason, scholars have differed in their opinions regarding the ruling on its removal. Some believe that its removal is impermissible, fearing that it constitutes altering Allah’s creation, except in cases of harm or affliction.

However, the majority of scholars have affirmed the permissibility of removing this hair, and the Malikis have gone further, deeming it obligatory. This is because the norm for women is to be free of such hair, and its removal restores the body to its natural feminine appearance. Furthermore, not removing it may harm a woman's psychological well-being and marital life, especially if it is dense. This is the more preponderant view, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) clarified what hair must be kept and what must be removed, remaining silent about everything else, which indicates its permissibility.

Sheikh Ibn Baz (may Allah have mercy on him) was asked about the ruling on removing hair from the body without the intention of imitating women or disbelievers, and he permitted it. He based his ruling on the principle of permissibility and the absence of any evidence for prohibition, as well as the silence of the Shari'ah on the matter, in accordance with the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "What Allah and His Messenger have remained silent about is permissible, and it is not allowed to declare it forbidden." If its removal is established as permissible, then there is no harm in removing it by laser or any other method that does not harm the body.
