Does a divorce issued with the intention of asserting power in front of family members take effect, given the intense love for the wife and the actual lack of desire for divorce?

Divorce is one of Allah's rituals and boundaries, against the transgression of which He warned. Violating its rulings is an injustice to oneself. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cautioned against toying with divorce. If you utter the explicit words of divorce, such as "You are divorced," a single divorce occurs, even if you are jesting, and you may take back your wife as long as she is within her waiting period (iddah). Address problems wisely; it is not shameful to love your wife and strive to please her, as long as you fulfill the rights of others. We advise you to provide an independent dwelling for your wife.
