What is the punishment for someone who commits major sins and abandons prayer, yet cries upon hearing the recitation of the Qur'an?

A Muslim must abstain from sins, especially major sins, because persistence in them leads to a bad ending. If one is afflicted by a sin, they should hasten to repent and seek forgiveness. If they die persisting in it, they are under theAllah's will; they will not abide eternally in Hellfire as long as they were monotheists, unless the sin was polytheism or a complete abandonment of prayer. The crying of a sinner upon hearing the Quran does not benefit them if it is not followed by application and abandonment of the sin, because what matters is the application, not merely being affected.
