The destruction of the family and society is a consequence of taking a mistress, and this leads to Allah's wrath and punishment. Passion ( عشق ) destroys the heart and leads to indecency, and it involves many prohibitions such as assaulting honor, betrayal, and obscenity. The questioner must fear Allah and monitor his actions. He must be raised to obey Allah and respect people's honor. Would he approve of what he does to Muslim women for his own family? Let him remember that the consequences of his sins may manifest in his family. Let him associate with the righteous, occupy himself with what pleases Allah, and utilize his youth in obedience to Him. Let him marry a righteous woman. Let him know that adultery is not limited to the private parts but includes the eye, the ear, the hand, and the leg. He must beware of Satan. Communication between lovers outside the framework of Islamic law is not permissible; rather, the guardian (wali al-amr) must be informed. Old love stories cannot be used as evidence to permit such relationships, for the legal ruling is derived from the Qur'an and Sunnah.
