What is the share of each heir from the inheritance based on the information mentioned?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If the heirs are limited to the wife, the grandmother, the daughters, and the full brothers and sisters, then:

- The wife receives one-eighth, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if you have a child, then for them is one-eighth of what you leave."

- The daughters receive two-thirds, based on the Almighty's saying: "But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two thirds of what he left."

- The grandmother receives one-sixth.

- The remainder after the fixed shares is divided among the full brothers and full sisters by ta'sib (agnatic succession), with the male receiving the share of two females, based on the Almighty's saying: "And if there are brothers and sisters, male and female, then the male will have the share of two females."

- The sons of brothers, paternal uncles, and their sons are completely excluded by the presence of a full brother.

The matter of inheritances is serious and complex; therefore, a mere fatwa is insufficient. Rather, it must be referred to the Sharia courts for investigation and consideration of wills, debts, and other rights.
