How do we respond to those who claim that Ibn al-Qayyim inserted the word "sitting" into Imam Ahmad's Musnad hadith about intercession to prove his creed, and that Ibn Abi al-Izz's commentary on al-Tahawiyyah is false?

The affirmation of the attributes of Loftiness (uluww) and Establishment (istiwa’) for Allah Almighty over His creation is a matter established definitively by the Qur’an, the Sunnah, the consensus of the Companions, and reason. Despite the clarity of the evidence, some deliberately distort it. The claim that Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) erred in transmitting a false hadith or adding a word does not justify rejecting the truth established by continuously transmitted evidence, especially since Ibn al-Qayyim is among the Muslim scholars renowned for their merit and knowledge. The commentators on the العقيدة الطحاوية (Aqeedah Tahawiyyah) are imams of Ahl al-Sunnah who championed the creed of the Salaf, and slandering them is injustice and calumny. Scientific refutation of errors is necessary, while being cautious not to seek out scholars' mistakes or accuse them of what they are not.
