What is the ruling on stepping on newspapers during games without looking at their content?

Many scholars are of the opinion that it is not obligatory to show respect for papers unless they contain the Quran, the name of Allah the Almighty, or the names of prophets and angels. It is forbidden to step on anything upon which the name of Allah or His Messenger is written, because it constitutes disrespect, and this applies to every revered name. Therefore, if newspapers contain Quranic verses, one of Allah's names, or the names of angels or prophets, then it is forbidden to step on them. However, if one steps on them before knowing what they contain, then it is more prudent to refrain from stepping on them due to the possibility that they may contain something that must be respected.
