What is the ruling on eating upon newspapers and magazines that contain verses and hadiths?

If a person is certain, or strongly believes, that the name of Allah the Almighty, or verses from the Holy Quran, or Prophetic Hadith are written on newspaper pages, then it is not permissible to eat on them, as this involves clear disrespect. Intentionally doing so and showing disdain for them is considered an act of disbelief. The obligation in this case is to burn them, or keep them, or place them in designated collection areas. If someone does this out of ignorance, there is no sin upon them. Those responsible for these newspapers should alert people by writing a clear note indicating their sanctity.
