What is incumbent upon whoever interprets the Almighty’s saying: "Their sides forsake their beds, to supplicate to their Lord in fear and hope, and from what We have provided for them they spend" (As-Sajdah: 16) with an interpretation for which he has no confirmation?

Allah the Almighty praised those who perform night prayers in the Qur’an, as He says: "Is one who is devoutly obedient during the hours of the night, prostrating and standing, fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who disbelieves]?," and His saying: "Their sides forsake their beds," meaning they move away from their sleeping places. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, mentioned night prayer as one of the gates of good deeds that extinguish sins. Therefore, there is no blame for understanding this clear meaning from the verses.
