Are the young man and woman sinful if, after marriage, they eat from the food of the young woman's family who work in cultivating cannabis, and is the young man entitled to limit the young woman's visits to her family to only two days a year?

As for the young man and woman eating from the food of those people: it is not permissible if all their earnings come from unlawful work. However, if their money is mixed, it is permissible to eat, though it is disliked, and this dislike increases with the increase of the unlawful portion. As for the husband stipulating that his wife may only visit her family two days a year: this is his right, and she must remain in the marital home and not go out except with his permission. It is preferable for him to be more lenient with her, as long as he does not fear harm. We advise them both to adhere to the law of Allah and to call to repentance with gentleness and leniency, and to explain the seriousness of consuming unlawful earnings.
