Does a divorce occur if the wife says to her husband, "You are divorced if you leave the house," and she then leaves?

If the wife leaves without forgetfulness or compulsion, the divorce is effective according to the majority of scholars, and this is the most preponderant opinion. The husband may take her back before the expiry of the waiting period (iddah) if it was the first or second divorce.
