What is the ruling on loving or playing with Christian children or giving them sweets?

There is no harm in showing kindness to the children of disbelievers, playing with them, and giving them gifts, based on the words of Allah Almighty: ﴿Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.﴾ It was said that this verse is specific to women and children.
