Is it permissible to sell golden rings to non-Muslim men?

Scholars have differed on the permissibility of selling gold rings for men from a Muslim to a disbeliever. The majority of them view it as forbidden because gold is prohibited for Muslim men, and because disbelievers are bound by the secondary rulings of Islamic law. They consider selling it an aid to sin. However, some scholars, like Ibn Taymiyyah, have deemed it permissible, citing the hadith where the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave a silk garment to Umar, and then Umar gave it to his polytheist brother. But the preponderant view is that this hadith does not indicate the permissibility of wearing, but rather of benefiting from it, and that silk and gold have the same ruling. The fatwa concluded by favoring the view of the majority, which prohibits selling gold rings for men to a disbeliever who would wear them, because selling what is forbidden to a Muslim to a disbeliever is prohibited, similar to selling grapes to someone who will turn them into wine.
