The answer

Love is of different kinds: obligatory, like the love of Allah, His Messenger, and the believers; permissible, like a man's love for his household; and forbidden, like the love of disbelievers, and a man's love for a woman who is a stranger to him, known as romantic relationships between young men and women. This latter type of love is forbidden because it often arises from not lowering the gaze and leads to not guarding one's chastity, unlawful seclusion, and indecency, as Allah Almighty says: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts" and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "And beware of women, for indeed, the first temptation for the Children of Israel was concerning women," and his saying: "I have not left behind me any temptation more harmful to men than women."
