Is fornication for money not considered fornication by Abu Hanifa, and is its perpetrator therefore not sinful?

What is meant by their statement that Abu Hanifa does not consider this act as zina (fornication/adultery) is that he does not see it as the kind of zina that necessitates the ḥadd (prescribed punishment) due to the presence of a doubt (shubhah), not that he deems it permissible. This is because the prohibition of zina is known by necessity from the religion. Zina is one of the most heinous sins and greatest major transgressions that incur Allah's wrath and a terrible consequence in this world and the Hereafter. Allah has prepared a painful torment for those who commit it, in the Barzakh (interim period after death) and the Hereafter. Whoever is able to marry should do so, and if not, then they should be patient and maintain chastity through fasting, guarding their hearing and sight, and keeping company with the righteous.
