What is the ruling regarding the inheritance left by a non-Muslim father, and how should it be handled, given that the distribution is equally divided among the non-Muslim heirs?

Scholars, including the four Imams, have agreed that a Muslim does not inherit from a disbeliever, based on the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "A Muslim does not inherit from a disbeliever, nor does a disbeliever inherit from a Muslim." If disbelievers are relatives of a Muslim and wish to give him something, he may take it from them as a gift, not as an inheritance, and dispose of it as an owner would.
