Is the blood that came down—after taking pills to induce it—scant, and its color dark and light brown, considered menstruation, necessitating ghusl and abstaining from prayer, or not? And must I make up the prayers I missed based on it being considered menstruation?

Scholars differ concerning the minimum duration of menstruation. The majority of them hold that it is one day and one night, and anything less than that is not considered menstruation. However, the Malikis and Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah do not set a minimum limit for it; rather, they consider it to be merely a gush of blood. Based on this, the small amount of blood seen by the questioner is not considered menstruation according to the majority, and she must make up the prayers of that day.
