Why is the singer's wage considered unlawful money, even though singing is a disputed matter, and even though the singer does not wrongfully consume people's wealth?

Scholars have unanimously agreed on the prohibition of the singer's earnings, because they are recompense for something forbidden, and it is an unlawful consumption of people's wealth, which Allah has prohibited in His statement: "O you who have believed, do not consume one another’s wealth unjustly." The forbidden singing that involves musical instruments is unanimously agreed upon as prohibited, and everything for which the Shari'ah has forbidden the consumption of wealth is invalid. In case of a difference of opinion on a matter, one must seek the opinion that is stronger in evidence, or follow a scholar whose emulation absolves one of responsibility, and not follow one's whims.
