The answer

The singing prevalent today is a great evil, for it involves the unveiling of awrat (private parts) and the arousal of desires. It is illicit wealth because it is acquired through an unlawful means that contravenes . Scholars have agreed that wealth acquired from unlawful work is prohibited. Jurists have unanimously concurred on the prohibition of a female singer's wages. These singers giving charity from such money does not make it lawful or good, for Allah accepts only what is good from earnings. Rather, they must engage in sincere repentance and rectify their situation.
