Is it obligatory for a pilgrim in the state of ihram who touched the Black Stone while it had perfume on it during circumambulation (tawaf) to repeat his circumambulation?
Scholars have agreed on the prohibition of a pilgrim in a state of touching perfume, based on the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saying: "Nor should he wear a garment touched by wars or saffron," and "Do not embalm him." Whoever does so intentionally is obligated to offer a (sacrifice a sheep, or fast three days, or feed six poor persons), and he is not required to repeat the circumambulation (). Whoever touches perfume forgetfully or out of ignorance is not liable for anything, but he must remove it. If he persists in keeping it, then the fidyah becomes obligatory upon him. The questioner must remove the scent and is not required to repeat the circumambulation.
