What is the ruling on someone who swore that he would not travel again, saying: "By Allah the Almighty, I will not travel again, and if I do, may Allah take my life," and he intends to travel to perform Umrah? And will his invocation against himself be answered, given that he was traveling when he made this oath?

A Muslim should not give in to anger or supplicate for their own destruction, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not get angry," and "None of you should wish for death due to a hardship that has afflicted him." It is from Allah's mercy that He does not always answer prayers for evil; He grants respite and does not neglect. As for your oath, it does not prevent you from traveling to Mecca or elsewhere, and you must offer expiation for breaking an oath, based on the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever swears an oath and then sees something better than it, let him do that [the better thing] and expiate for his oath." In conclusion, your oath and your supplication do not prevent you from doing good after repenting to Allah and relying upon Him.
